Shakeology Peanut Butter Cups

My favorite candy ever, and I mean EVER is a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup. I mean dont bring them near me I will eat them! All of them! I sneak them out of Christmas candy, Halloween candy, Easter… see where this is going!

So I was so excited when I saw Shakeology peanut butter cups and I tried the first recipe that I saw. They were good but not amazing. I only made them once if that tells you anything. I set out to make some tweeks and see if I could get something created that I could really use to exchange my sometimes unhealthy after dinner snacks.

Change number 1) the Shakeology. I love chocolate. So much so that Im super picky. I drank regular chocolate Shakeology for about 5 months and it was good but i got a chance to try the Vegan Chocolate Shakeology and I was amazed at the difference. The first thing i noticed is the smell. The Regular Chocolate has a bit of a protein smell. Not bad at all just there. The Vegan Chocolate smell just like Coco Powder. Like warm, dark chocolate goodness. Its a clean, light pure chocolate smell. The taste too is different. I do have to used less liquid to make my shake now but that’s an easy change to make.

2) the Coconut oil. Since Im fairly new to the Coconut oil world I had no idea that there was a refined and an unrefined. The unrefined still has the coconut smell and taste but the refines doesnt.

3) PB2 instead of peanut butter. I tend of only slightly ( bahaha riiiiight) overestimate the serving of peanut butter. Using PB2 allowed me to more easily measure, and there are a lot less calories.

Shakeology Peanut Butter Cups


Line 6 cupcake wells with a paper or foil liner


  • 2 TBSP Refined Coconut Oil
  • 4 TBSP of Vegan (or Regular) Chocolate Shakeology

Melt the oil, about 45 seconds in the microwave, add the shakeology and mix well. Evenly distribute among the six cups. You do not need a big thick layer, keep in mind you have two more layers to go. Just enough of the mixture to cover the bottom will work. Pop the tin in the freezer for the chocolate to set. This will make it easier to spread the peanut butter.





In a separate bowl miximg_8335

  • 4 TBSP of PB2
  • 2 TBSP of water

Once the first layer has hardened spread an even amount of the peanut butter mixture over the top and smooth to a nice flat layer.

Mix a second layer of Shakeology and Coconut oil. Again, distribute evenly. Just enough to cover the second layer will do. After the peanut butter layer is covered pop the tin back in the freezer and let the cups harden completly.

They are about 100 calories a piece just FYI and I exchange them for a treat (which you could probably fit 2 in the yellow container)




When you are ready to enjoy peel back the paper and you are good to go!
