Water! How much and and how??

Water. For the better part of my life i underestimated the importance of water. I didn’t drink it, I drank everything but it and my body reaped the consequences. I never fully respected what it could and would do for my body.  I also don’t like all bottled water and so I used that as an excuse to not drink any. I love to crunch ice but i dont like a lot in my water…..Im picky….thats a nice way of putting it!

Let’s start out by discussing how much water we should drink a day. The rule of thumb is that you should drink half your bodyweight in ounces of water. So if you weigh 150 pounds you should drink 75 oz of water a day. 75 oz  is a little over 9 cups a day. This is a lot of water and its not always easy to get in.

You might also notice that when you first start working towards your daily intake of water you will frequent the potty quite a bit! This will only be for the first day or so as your body adjusts to the new clean, fresh water that you are supplying it with.

 

 

Now that you know how much water you should be drinking a day lets talk about some ways to make getting your water in a little easier. There are a few things that i do to keep staying hydrated on my mind and make it a tad simpler! The first thing i did was go and buy a water bottle that could hold 32 ounces. I picked a bottle that big because I knew that if i filled it up when I got to work and was able to finish it at least by lunch I had one more bottle to go and i would be well on my way to my 75 ounces. So not keeping in order with the chart below i suggest you #1 go out and get a big water bottle. Even a cute one if it helps!! #2 Keep that bottle CLOSE!! The more you cart it around the more you will find yourself drinking it and therefore refilling it.
