I love a recipe that is multi purpose! And I love a crockpot. It might just be the southern girl in my but I can’t imagine life without my crockpot! Mary-Anne has helped me out many a day …. just kidding her name isn’t Mary-Anne that would be silly… Thelma has really gotten me out of a bind or two with her ability to work with little to no supervision!
We eat a lot of chicken around my house. There are several reasons for this! 1. I can get it on sale for a good price, 2. It doesnt leave you with that overly full feeling that some of the other meats can leave you with. 3. you can do so much with it!!!
Herb Slow Cooked Chicken
4 chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp honey
3/4 cup chicken broth
Combine all the ingredients BUT the broth in a small bowl, then rub the mixture onto the chicken. Place the chicken into the crockpot and add the broth and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
- season the meat and freezer the uncooked breasts in a ziploc bag for later.
- cook the meat, let it cool and then divide it into quart bags for later
- cook and eat and freeze the leftovers
