Sometimes you need cake

Breaking out of the box is tough.

Sometimes i think that the reason that we fail or slip up with our diet or eating or in our weightloss journey is because we get trapped in the illusive BOX. We get into the habit of thinking in terms of protein veggies and fruits and we  forget that those things cannot only be eaten separate but they can also be joined together to make a wonderful taste meal.

This past weekend i was craving sweets something aweful! I have seem at least 1000 different Shakeology recipes but i never did it occur to me to find ones that were for desserts instead of just the traditional shake.

Not only last weekend did i make some amazing PumpkinBrownies but i also made a Shakeology mug cake! I have made mug cakes in the past that were less than satisfying. Finding a recipe that had plenty of liquid in it so that it was moist was super important. This is the recipe i used:

Shakeology Mug Cake

1 scoop shakeology
1Tbsp cocoa powder
1/4tsp baking powder
dash of salt
3 Tbps Almond milk
1 egg
1tsp peanut butter

Grab your favorite mug, Mix dry ingredients then add the milk and egg, mix well should have a cake batter texture, then add peanut butter on top sinking it a little in the middle of the batter, microwave for about 1 min and 15 seconds. Drizzle with honey for a little added sweetness, add a few chocolate chip if you are feeling a little dangerous!!

This was a great dessert! Health, yummy, filling and no where neat a cheat!!!
